Tuesday, the 9th of June was an important night for South West Business for Garage Doors and Marketing Source, who discovered they were finalists at the maiden ceremony for the Drum Search Awards. Held at the Marriott Grosvenor Square, the event was the first of its kind to officially represent the online search industry in the UK.
The Drum Search Awards recognises and celebrates the best and most innovative businesses in the online search industry. Judged by representatives from industry giants, such as Microsoft and Google, Garage Doors has been selected as a finalist from over 300 entries, across the UK.
Awards MD, Lynn Lester, told a packed house that “the Pay per Search Industry was worth over £4billion last year which, to me, says you guys are doing something right.” With the awards being sponsored by the likes of Internet goliaths, Google, Yahoo and Bing, the stakes were understandably high.
When it comes to the awards themselves, GDAC will be facing stiff competition, being pitted against the likes of British Gas, Virgin and Samsung UK. For the winner, Event Director of the Drum Search Awards,
Katie Thomson, says that this is the perfect opportunity “to prove they are the best at what they do.”
Leading Lights in the Search Industry
While we didn’t quite make it past the final post, with Samsung winning in the Best Consumer product category, is still a great recognition of the online growth of Garage Doors.
